Encapsulation/Tablet Press Operators

Position Summary: The Production Technician 3 is responsible for observing cGMP work practices in a nutraceutical manufacturing environment, dispersing, granulating, milling, blending, compressing and packaging of products according to described specifications and guidelines in the Batch Manufacturing Record, and cleaning nutraceutical equipment and facilities according to prescribed SOPs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Adherence to cGMP work practices in a nutraceutical manufacturing environment.
2. Adherence to the procedures used to clean nutraceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities.
3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions including SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records.
4. Ability to execute appropriate documentation.
5. Ability to execute the necessary skills to reliably manufacture Windsor Labs’ products.
6. Other duties as assigned

Education/Skills and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Experience in manufacturing operations nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry.
• General command of the English language (must be able to read and write in English); basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to use a calculator.
• Must be able to read and understand written instruction. Must be able to take and carry out verbal instructions.
• Must be able to learn manufacturing equipment operations, including but not limited to: weighing, blending, granulations, check weight, tablet compression, encapsulation & packaging etc.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions including SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records.
• Demonstrated ability to work with co-workers to clean, set-up, and operate equipment associated with some or all of the operation as appropriate to achieve the requirements of the manufacturing schedule, with direction and supervision as required.
• Demonstrated ability to meet required standards of cGMP, product quality, yield standards and productivity performance.
• Demonstrated understanding of the unit operations and the ability to assist with the job training for Trainee Technicians.
• Attendance at cGMP course and training on relevant SOPs and a record of adherence to cGMPs.

NOTE: Each year all production technicians will receive an annual review to evaluate each technician’s performance, demonstrated skills and abilities. Failure to demonstrate the skills and abilities required to meet one or more of the benchmarks listed above will prevent the technician from advancing and many result in a revision of technician level.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Physical Demands: Must be able to move and lift equipment and reagents up to 25 kg. (60 pounds) without mechanical aid and up to 2000 pounds with mechanical aid or support from co-workers.
• Health and personal protective equipment demands: Must be able to perform job requirements while wearing protective safety equipment (i.e. respiratory mask, eye protection, hearing protection as required and special clothing).
• Visual demands: Clear sight (with or without prescription glasses).
• Temperamental and Mental Requirements: Reliable, cordial, flexible, and able to interact with peers and other departments.
• Mechanical aptitude: Must be able to demonstrate the ability to reliably perform mechanical tasks and retain the knowledge of assembly and disassembly of manufacturing equipment.
• Level of Proficiency: The position is technical and therefore must demonstrate the ability to perform the job as required with minimal supervision to described performance levels.
